OC on track to have its most felony cases in 2007

Orange County Superior Court may top its record for most felony trials this year. Judge Kazuharu Makino told the Orange County Register he expects the record to be broken given that judges would need to complete 25 trials in November and December - breaking the record 456 felony trials in 2003.

Makino said one of the factors was in the increase was more multiple defendant gang cases being filed. Orange County has 1,289 felony cases pending.
