L.A. Superior Court Judge Wendell Mortimer Jr. to retire

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Wendell Mortimer Jr. will retire on April 30 and become a private judge, the Metropolitan News-Enterprise reported.

Mortimer, 70, was appointed to the bench by then-Gov. Pete Wilson in 1995. Prior to that, he was a partner at Thelen Marrin for 23 years and a solo practitioner for two.
