Rex Bossert, the editor-in-chief of The National Law Journal, joined UC-Irvine's new law school as the director of communications.
"What truly excites me about joining the UC Irvine School of Law is the prospect of helping [law dean Erwin Chemerinsky] and his handpicked team build an innovative and influential law school from the ground up," Bossert writes.
"Rarely do you get a chance to start with a clean slate and completely remake an educational institution such as a law school. And we have the backing of the University of California, the greatest state university system in the country if not the world, which makes the law school’s prospects especially bright."
Bossert was previously a staff writer at the Los Angeles Daily Journal and San Francisco Daily Journal before joining Incisive Media* in 1997 as an associate editor of The National Law Journal. He became managing editor of the New York Law Journal in 1999 and was named editor-in-chief of The National Law Journal in 2004, Bossert's favorite project in his career.
Bossert also was an English instructor at Stanford University, where he earned a doctorate in English literature.
